Huawei delays Nova 15 to early next year, backing November launches of Mate 80 and Mate X7. Rumors tease Nova 15 Ultra: 50MP camera, Kirin, 6,500mAh, 100W.
Huawei appears to be reshaping its release cadence—the anticipated Nova 15 series may land later than first expected. Fresh reports from Chinese sources suggest the company is concentrating on the November launch of its Mate 80 flagships and the foldable Mate X7, which makes a Nova 15 debut more likely in the new year.
A well-known leaker indicates that Huawei is already preparing the Mate 80 line and the Mate X7 for rollout, while a December window for Nova 15 looks doubtful. The company seems to be reallocating resources to strengthen production and spotlight the core Mate flagship lineup. Shifts in the supply chain and adjustments to manufacturing plans are also cited as potential reasons for the delay. The strategy reads like a pragmatic trade-off: prioritize halo devices now, then return to the mainstream crowd-pleaser when the runway clears.
Rumors point to several Nova 15 models, headlined by the Nova 15 Ultra. It is said to carry a 50‑megapixel main camera with a large 1/1.3‑inch sensor, a 13‑megapixel ultrawide, and a 50‑megapixel periscope telephoto, plus a multispectral sensor. The phone is expected to use a Kirin chip, run HarmonyOS 6, and pack a 6,500 mAh battery with 100 W fast charging. Reports also mention satellite connectivity, a metal frame, and water‑ and dust‑resistance rated at IP68/69.
