Rockstar brings Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare to iOS and Android on Dec 2, with mobile-friendly controls and GOTY content. Age rating: 18+. More.

Rockstar Games has officially announced that the cult Red Dead Redemption, together with the Undead Nightmare expansion, is coming to mobile for the first time. On December 2, iOS and Android owners will be able to dive into the classic Western that previously lived only on consoles — a welcome step that taps into both nostalgia and the thrill of playing on the go.

The mobile release is part of a broader reissue for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and the Netflix Games service. The first Red Dead Redemption launched in 2010 on PS3 and Xbox 360 and follows John Marston, a former outlaw forced by federal agents to hunt down members of his old gang. Red Dead Redemption 2, released in 2018, serves as a narrative prequel.

Rockstar notes that the mobile version includes the full single-player campaign of the original Red Dead Redemption and the horror-themed Undead Nightmare, where Marston tries to stop a zombie plague sweeping the frontier. The studio promises mobile-friendly controls and all additional content from the Game of the Year Edition.

Pricing and device requirements have not been disclosed, but the launch is likely to draw plenty of attention from Rockstar’s fanbase. Red Dead Redemption collected numerous Game of the Year accolades and is still regarded as one of the finest open worlds in the industry.
