Thunderobot launches gaming PCs with China-made Hygon C86 x86 CPUs: up to 16 cores, DDR5 and PCIe 5.0, strong esports and decent AAA FPS, broad compatibility.
Thunderobot has unveiled new gaming PCs powered by China-made Hygon C86 processors—its first lineup of this kind aimed squarely at the domestic market.
The systems made their public debut at a major esports tournament. Inside, they run Hygon C86-4G CPUs with up to 16 cores and a Hyper-Threading analogue, 32 MB of L3 cache, and support for DDR5 and PCIe 5.0. The chip follows a dual‑chiplet design: each module carries 8 cores and 16 MB of cache.
While these processors aren’t pitched as direct counterparts to 16‑core models from AMD or Intel, tests indicate that the Hygon C86 sits between the Core i7‑13700 and Core i7‑14700 in performance. During the showcase, the system handled esports titles confidently and delivered acceptable FPS in Black Myth: Wukong, though the graphics card model was not disclosed.
Beyond raw speed, the clear advantage is compatibility with the x86 ecosystem, which ensures Windows and most popular games and apps run as expected. Pricing remains under wraps, but the expectation is a compelling price‑to‑performance balance for Thunderobot PCs with Hygon chips. The arrival of these machines points to China’s growing interest in putting homegrown hardware to work—an incremental step that feels particularly telling.
