AYANEO readies a flagship Strix Halo handheld with Ryzen AI MAX (16 Zen 5 cores, RDNA 3.5, 40 CUs), a 9-inch 2400×1504 OLED at 165 Hz, and a live reveal soon.
AYANEO is gearing up to launch its flagship handheld built on AMD’s Strix Halo, and the company is clearly chasing peak performance. While rivals like GPD and Onexplayer are showing devices with the same processor but without a battery, AYANEO is stepping away from modularity to deliver a more cohesive, performance-first machine. The device is based on Ryzen AI MAX with sixteen Zen 5 cores and RDNA 3.5 graphics featuring forty compute units, which positions it among the most powerful handheld PCs on the market.
The company has confirmed a nine-inch OLED display at 2400×1504 with a 165 Hz refresh rate. Screens like this are rare in the handheld space, and there is a suggestion that AYANEO may be using a panel similar to the one in the RedMagic Astra Gaming Tablet. That tablet’s screen offers a comparable diagonal and up to 1,600 nits of brightness, though it uses a different aspect ratio. If the parallel holds, the display choice underscores a push for fluid visuals, not just headline specs.
Dimensions remain undisclosed, but the available images indicate a device notably larger than traditional handhelds, likely edging toward Steam Deck territory. The unanswered questions are weight and price—figures that will ultimately decide how many users are willing to trade convenience for raw horsepower.
AYANEO says more details are coming soon, with the announcement set to arrive via a live broadcast featuring the company’s chief, as is its custom.
