A new leak claims Xiaomi's Redmi Note 16 Pro+ will upgrade to a 200MP main camera, with a China launch expected in early 2026. Here's what the tipster reveals.
Xiaomi appears to be gearing up for the Redmi Note 16 lineup, which, according to insider chatter, is slated to debut in China in early 2026. The launch is still a ways off, yet a fresh leak already points to a headline feature for the Pro+ version.
According to well-known tipster Smart Pikachu, the Redmi Note 16 Pro+ may upgrade to a 200MP main camera—a clear leap over the previous generation. The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ used a 50MP Light Hunter 800 sensor, so a move to 200MP would mark a noticeable change of pace for the series.
Even so, a 200MP shooter wouldn’t be new to the lineup: the global Redmi Note 14 Pro+ already shipped with Samsung’s 200MP ISOCELL HP3. Xiaomi hasn’t disclosed which sensor it plans to use in the Note 16 Pro+, and sources suggest it’s likely not Sony’s LYT-901, a new 200MP module aimed at flagships, while the Redmi Note family stays in the mid-range. The direction feels pragmatic: put a big, easy-to-spot camera number front and center to set the Pro+ apart.
