XPeng unveils IRON at IAA 2025: a 178 cm humanoid with 22-DoF biomimetic hands, bipedal walking, real-time AI dialogue, and integration with XPeng smart cars.
At IAA 2025, XPeng unveiled its most advanced humanoid robot, called IRON. It stands 178 cm tall and weighs 70 kg. The machine follows an anthropomorphic design to closely mirror human proportions and presence. It is fitted with life-size, biomimetic hands, each offering 22 degrees of freedom for precise, intricate movements.
IRON not only walks with a natural gait thanks to an autonomous bipedal system, but also holds real-time conversations. The developers say its AI supports proactive reasoning and smooth, sustained dialogue, which positions the robot as a potential helper in household and service roles. On paper, that mix of mobility and conversation brings it closer to everyday usefulness.
XPeng emphasizes this is just a first step toward a new-generation platform in which humanoid robots work alongside the company’s smart cars and other devices, shaping an ecosystem of intelligent mobility and interaction. The vision suggests XPeng wants the robot woven into its broader lineup rather than treated as a standalone showcase.
