Early estimates put Galaxy Z TriFold inner screen repair at $1,120–$1,240—nearly the price of a new S25 Ultra. Scarce stock underscores its experimental launch.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold has grabbed attention not just for its unusual form factor, but also for what could be a very steep maintenance bill. Early figures on repair pricing suggest that replacing the main screen might run nearly as much as buying a brand-new Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The Galaxy Z TriFold only just debuted and quickly became hard to find. With a triple-fold display that opens into a tablet, it reportedly sold out within minutes despite limited supply. There’s a catch, though: that intricate design comes with a vulnerable, and extremely costly, internal panel.

According to available information, swapping the outer display is priced between 137,000 and 226,000 won (about $90–$150), which tracks with repair costs for typical foldables. The real shock is the inner three-section screen: replacement is estimated at 1.65–1.83 million won, or roughly $1,120–$1,240. For context, a new Galaxy S25 Ultra in South Korea sells for around 1.67 million won. In other words, fixing the TriFold’s defining component can cost about the same as picking up a new non-folding flagship.

Another factor is scarcity. Reports indicate that each major Samsung store carries only 15–30 units, and nationwide sales so far don’t exceed a few thousand. That suggests an experimental rollout—and helps explain why service prices are where they are.

While these figures come from unofficial sources and could change, the trend is hard to miss: cutting-edge folding tech remains pricey not only at purchase, but also at the repair counter. The Galaxy Z TriFold points toward the future of smartphones, yet for now, that future carries a hefty premium.
