Industry sources say the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is delayed to 2026 due to accessory QC issues. Leaks hint at a 20% larger battery and a possible December reveal.
The compact DJI Osmo Pocket line hasn’t been refreshed in a while, and many expected the next generation to arrive by year’s end. Fresh word from industry sources, however, points to a possible delay for the DJI Osmo Pocket 4.
DJI has been developing a successor to the Osmo Pocket 3 for some time. Earlier reports suggested the device would show up in the US FCC database by the end of last month. Those filings indicated the new model would feature a battery with roughly 20% more capacity than the previous generation.
The Osmo Pocket 4 has also surfaced in multiple leaked photos, indirectly signaling that the product is well along. On that basis, many insiders assumed DJI could still launch the camera before the year is out, despite the absence of any official statements from the company.
One reason for the expectation of a quick release was the looming US ban on DJI drones set to take effect at the end of the month. Still, Photorabz reports that DJI ran into quality-control issues with accessories, which pushed the schedule past December. The camera itself is said to be ready for mass production. If that’s the case, a delay tied to peripherals rather than the core hardware suggests the company is favoring a polished rollout over speed.
For now, sources converge on a timeline that puts the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 no earlier than January 2026. There is also talk that an official announcement could still land by the end of December, potentially alongside a confirmed date for the global release.
