Danish audio brand DALI has unveiled the SONIK loudspeaker series, which it says opens a new chapter for affordable hi-fi and home theater. The lineup marks the company’s most extensive rethink since the OBERON range in 2018 and is designed to combine high-caliber sound, contemporary design, and everyday convenience for a broad audience.

DALI notes that SONIK borrows engineering from its flagship KORE, EPIKORE, and EPICON lines while staying straightforward to integrate and welcoming not only experienced audiophiles but also newcomers to quality sound. At the heart of the series is a new 29 mm ultralight dome tweeter with an aluminum faceplate, designed for wide dispersion and a cohesive, detailed treble. The higher-tier SONIK 7 and SONIK 9 add the brand’s hybrid tweeter system, pairing the dome with a 17 × 45 mm planar magnetostatic driver for even greater precision and extension in the highs. The approach reads as a clear trickle-down of top-end tech, packaged to feel approachable rather than intimidating.

Low and mid frequencies are handled by 5.25- and 7-inch drivers with Clarity Cone diaphragms made from paper and wood fiber to maintain a natural timbre and minimal coloration. The SMC Essential magnetic system, inherited from DALI’s pricier series, aims to reduce third-order harmonic distortion. Dual Flare bass-reflex ports use optimized geometry for clean, agile bass, while the on-wall and cinema models employ specialized front-facing and on-wall port configurations.

On the design front, SONIK retains DALI’s recognizable, restrained aesthetic. Cabinets are CNC-machined from MDF with rigid internal bracing and separate chambers for the bass drivers. Magnetic grilles, aluminum tweeter faceplates, new branded terminals, and design cues inspired by EPIKORE round out the look. Finishes include Black Ash, Walnut, Natural Oak, and White.

The family comprises seven models tailored to different use cases: compact bookshelf speakers SONIK 1 and SONIK 3; floorstanders SONIK 5, SONIK 7, and the flagship SONIK 9 with a hybrid tweeter and three 7-inch drivers; plus the SONIK ON-WALL and the SONIK CINEMA for home theater setups. Global sales are set to begin on February 2, 2026. In Europe, prices start at 498 euros for the SONIK 1 and reach 2,398 euros for the SONIK 9. DALI considers SONIK a new benchmark for value in its class, and the breadth of the range suggests a platform built to serve both stereo enthusiasts and movie lovers with equal focus.
