FiiO Snowsky Disc portable music player with dual DAC, round touchscreen, 2TB MicroSD, LDAC and USB DAC. Wi‑Fi/AirPlay, 12‑hour battery, launching at about $80.
FiiO has introduced the Snowsky Disc portable music player, the latest addition to its retro-inspired lineup after the Echo Mini and Nano. The newcomer blends a nostalgic look with modern audio technology and is aimed at listeners who want high-quality sound without paying for complicated extras—a focused device that sticks to what matters.
At its core is a dual DAC system tuned for clean, natural playback across formats. The player is designed to handle both sensitive in-ear monitors and full-size headphones, delivering a detailed, saturated presentation. A standout feature is the round touchscreen that nods to classic CD players while offering convenient modern controls with album art and lyrics support.
The Snowsky Disc supports MicroSD expansion up to 2 TB, enough to store up to eight thousand albums locally. That makes it appealing to those who prefer their own library over streaming, even though Wi‑Fi and AirPlay also allow music to be streamed over a network. The interface is intentionally pared back so nothing gets in the way of listening—an approach that feels refreshingly focused.
Connectivity is straightforward: 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm outputs for wired headphones, plus Bluetooth with LDAC for wireless listening. The Snowsky Disc can serve as a USB DAC, output audio over USB and SPDIF, and slot neatly into a home audio setup. As a final flourish, FiiO has added retro-style sound effects inspired by classic audio gear—a playful nod to its theme.
The built-in battery offers about 12 hours of continuous playback, suitable for long trips or training sessions. Sales start in January, with an estimated price of around 80 dollars or 80 pounds, positioning the device as one of the most accessible and versatile entry-level music players—and keeping it within easy reach of curious newcomers and seasoned listeners alike.
