Google Pixel users on Android 16 QPR3 Beta 1 report a severe camera bug: 50MP mode triggers vibration, broken autofocus, blur. Avoid 50MP until a fix.
After installing Android 16 QPR3 Beta 1, Google Pixel owners are widely reporting a critical camera flaw that effectively breaks autofocus and makes high-resolution shooting nearly impossible.
According to posts on Reddit and Google’s issue tracker, updating to build CP11.251114.006 causes the camera to physically vibrate during focusing. The preview shakes, and resulting photos are heavily blurred.
The issue appears in the 50-megapixel mode on both the main and ultrawide cameras, while the standard 12-megapixel setting works as expected. Users note it occurs even in good lighting and regardless of focusing method, whether tap-to-focus or manual.
Some Pixel owners also report that the vibration is tangible—the phone visibly trembles in hand. Judging by the pattern of complaints, the bug seems tied to how the beta handles high-resolution image processing at the system level.
There’s no workable fix for now. Clearing cache, resetting the Camera app, or reinstalling updates doesn’t help. The only reliable workaround is to avoid the 50MP mode altogether. Google has acknowledged the influx of reports and is likely preparing a patch for an upcoming beta, but no timeline has been shared. It’s a pointed reminder of the trade-offs of early software, especially when core features are at stake.
