Xiaomi confirms a Dec 25 launch for Watch 5 and Buds 6. Flagship Watch adds EMG and sapphire glass; earbuds promise lossless audio, AI features, and comfort.

Xiaomi is broadening its December showcase. In addition to the flagship Xiaomi 17 Ultra, the company will unveil two accessories on December 25: the Xiaomi Watch 5 smartwatch and the Xiaomi Buds 6 wireless earbuds. The launch has been officially confirmed, and both newcomers are positioned squarely at the top end.

Xiaomi describes the Watch 5 as fully fledged flagship smartwatches. The device runs on the 4 nm Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 platform with a quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU. Its headline addition is an EMG (electromyography) sensor to complement the familiar ECG. The sensor can read muscle impulses in the wrist, potentially enabling gesture control without touching the display; if the implementation is reliable, navigation could feel more natural than tap-heavy interfaces.

On the design front, the Watch 5 features a round display protected by sapphire glass (9 on the Mohs scale) and a case carved from a single piece of stainless steel. Buyers will get several strap options, including a metal band, plus brown and green versions. The mix suggests a classic look with premium materials.

Alongside the watch, Xiaomi will introduce its new flagship earbuds, the Xiaomi Buds 6. Official materials show three colorways—pink, white, and black. The earbuds adopt a biomimetic curved shape aimed at long-wear comfort. The company promises lossless audio and puts emphasis on intelligent features. Among the stated capabilities are recording, speech translation, and brief AI-powered summaries—an approach that hints at tighter integration between hardware and services.

The previous Buds 5 delivered active noise cancellation, spatial audio, and up to 39 hours of battery life, and expectations are for the Buds 6 to go further. Xiaomi is not disclosing full specifications or pricing yet, holding those details for the presentation—an expected move to keep anticipation high.
