realme Neo8 leaks point to Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, huge 8,000 mAh battery and 165 Hz display

The first details about the realme Neo8 have surfaced online, with a potential debut as early as January. According to Chinese insider Digital Chat Station, the newcomer is positioned in the mid-range yet is expected to run a flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset — a combination that makes it stand out in a crowded field.

The Neo8 is reportedly built with a metal frame and a glass back, and is said to include an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner along with full-fledged water protection. One of its headline features is a battery of around 8,000 mAh, which significantly surpasses most devices in this class. The insider also points to two additional features that remain undisclosed.

Early information suggests a large 6.78-inch display with 1.5K resolution and a 165 Hz refresh rate. The panel is a flat Samsung LTPS unit, while the main camera is set to use a 50-megapixel, larger-format sensor aimed at delivering higher-quality imaging.

For comparison, the previous realme Neo7 launched in December 2024 with a Dimensity 9300+ processor, a 7,000 mAh battery, and a bright BOE OLED screen with LTPO and gaming technologies, starting at 2,099 yuan. If the Neo8 leaks are confirmed, the new model could become one of the most powerful and long-lasting smartphones in its segment at the start of next year.
