Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra get global certifications ahead of launch. Learn the rollout timeline, smaller global batteries, and which Pro models stay China-only.
Xiaomi is steadily preparing the global debut of its flagship 17 series, with the first confirmations now visible in international regulatory databases. The Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra have passed certifications in several countries, a clear sign that a rollout beyond China is drawing near.
Documents show that India approved models with the numbers 2512BPNDAI and 25113PN0EI. Their counterparts — 2512BPNDAG and 25113PN0EG — received certification in Thailand. In addition, Singapore’s IMDA earlier confirmed two Xiaomi 17 Ultra variants: a standard model and a Leica Edition.
According to Xiaomi vice president and head of marketing Xu Fei, the global release of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is planned for 2026. Unofficial reports suggest the international launch of the lineup could happen in spring, roughly in March — a timeline that hints at a staggered rollout.
There is a less cheerful note for prospective buyers. Sources indicate the global versions will carry smaller batteries than the Chinese models. While the China variant of the Xiaomi 17 is equipped with a 5400 mAh battery, the international model is expected to be limited to 5240 mAh. The flagship follows the same pattern: the Chinese Xiaomi 17 Ultra has a 6800 mAh battery, whereas the global version is rumored to come in at around 6000 mAh. On paper the difference is modest, yet it’s the kind of nuance spec-focused users tend to notice.
It has also emerged that the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max will likely remain exclusive to the Chinese market.
