Insider leak says Huawei Pura 90 will add a 1-inch main sensor and updated dual periscope zoom (200MP/50MP), boosting low-light detail and long-range imaging.

Huawei is preparing a major camera upgrade for the next generation of Pura 90 flagships. According to insider Digital Chat Station, the company is testing new sensors that could noticeably raise mobile photo quality compared with the already advanced Pura 80 series.

The headline change could be a 1-inch main image sensor. Huawei is reportedly considering a new unit, presumably from SmartSense or OmniVision, though its exact origin has yet to be confirmed. Such a module is expected to deliver higher detail and markedly better performance in low light, reducing noise and sharpening frames in difficult conditions.

Improvements are also expected in the zoom system. Rumors suggest the Pura 90 Pro and Pura 90 Ultra will keep the dual periscope telephoto setup but switch to updated sensors. The talk is about 200- and 50-megapixel modules with a large 1/1.28-inch format, which should benefit both optical magnification and image quality at longer focal lengths.

It remains unclear whether the standard Pura 90 will receive all of these upgrades. Even so, the leak points to Huawei pushing mobile photography another step forward, reinforcing the Pura line’s position among premium camera-centric phones. The trajectory looks clear: bigger sensors and stronger long-range imaging.
