Resident Evil: Requiem arrives Feb 27, 2026 on PS5, Xbox, PC and Switch 2. Dual narrative with Leon and Grace, switchable first/third-person, no VR mode.

Capcom is gearing up to launch a new entry in the Resident Evil franchise — Resident Evil: Requiem — which has already gathered more than 4 million wishlist entries across platforms. The release is set for February 27, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Epic Games, and Switch 2. A special presentation with additional details is planned for January, and the early interest suggests the series still commands serious attention.

The story unfolds in 2026 and follows Leon, tempered by many battles, and Grace, a newcomer whom Capcom describes as the most timid character in the series. Together they face a dangerous crisis that puts their abilities under severe pressure. The pairing of a hardened veteran with a reluctant survivor hints at a different kind of chemistry that could sharpen the tension.

Resident Evil: Requiem adopts a dual-narrative structure. Grace’s path preserves the survival-horror feel familiar from RE2, where players make do with scarce resources amid constant danger. Leon’s arc builds on the combat system from RE4, leaning into physicality and close-quarters encounters. The split approach promises contrast in tone and tempo while keeping the experience cohesive.

Players will be able to switch freely between first- and third-person perspectives, adding variety to moment-to-moment play. Capcom has also clarified that this entry will not feature a VR mode, keeping the focus on classic gameplay and a tightly wound survival-horror atmosphere — a grounded choice that should resonate with longtime fans.
