A credible leak hints the Galaxy S27 Ultra will debut new main, ultrawide and selfie sensors in 2027, breaking Samsung's streak as S26 Ultra remains similar.

Samsung might finally reward fans with substantive camera upgrades in its 2027 flagship. A fresh leak suggests the Galaxy S27 Ultra will introduce new sensors across several modules, including the main, ultrawide, and front-facing cameras.

Set against expectations that the Galaxy S26 lineup will arrive in February 2026, the contrast is striking. Rumors point to the Galaxy S26 Ultra bringing almost no changes to its cameras compared with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, a prospect that has already sparked disappointment. Against that backdrop, it started to feel like Samsung was leaning on minimal updates and safe margins rather than bold ideas.

According to well-known leaker Ice Universe, the Galaxy S27 Ultra could mark a turn. The smartphone is said to adopt new sensors for its primary and ultrawide cameras on the rear, along with an updated selfie camera. The telephoto lens would be the lone constant, reportedly carried over from the Galaxy S26 Ultra without major tweaks.

The source emphasizes that this is early information, and plans could shift before the Galaxy S27 sees the light of day. Even so, the leak suggests Samsung may be preparing a meaningful step forward for its next top-tier model—one that, if it materializes, would finally break the pattern of incremental changes and give camera enthusiasts a reason to wait.
