Discover the GPD WIN 5 handheld gaming console: prices, configurations, and specs. Ryzen AI, 7-inch 120 Hz display, up to 64 GB RAM. Preorders start Sept 25.
GPD has officially unveiled the WIN 5 handheld gaming console, outlining its prices and configurations. Preorders open on September 25, with several versions on offer starting at 8,699 yuan for the base model.
The entry configuration pairs an AMD Ryzen AI Max 385 with 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. The mid-tier version steps up to a Ryzen AI Max+ 395, 32 GB of RAM, and a 2 TB drive for 9,999 yuan. The top model keeps the same processor but increases the RAM to 64 GB and storage to 4 TB, priced at 12,999 yuan. The lineup clearly covers different needs, from everyday play to more demanding use.
The WIN 5 comes in a battery-less form factor and weighs 565 g. Power is managed by the company’s FlexPower system, which lets users switch between different connection modes—a design that leans into flexible, situational power delivery. Up front is a 7-inch display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, FreeSync Premium support, a 6 ms response time, and full sRGB coverage, a set of specs aimed at smooth motion and vivid color.
Storage expansion is notably adaptable: there’s an M.2 PCIe Gen4 slot in the 2280 format, an additional Mini SSD, and microSD support. For controls, the console uses Hall-sensor triggers with 0.1 mm precision and latency under 0.1 ms, which hints at fine input control well-suited to racers, shooters, and action titles.
In essence, GPD positions the WIN 5 as a powerful portable capable of running modern AAA games and competing with gaming laptops in a compact footprint. The spec sheet alone points to a handheld built for performance without losing sight of flexibility.
