At CES 2026, L’Oréal previews a flexible LED face mask and an infrared Light Straight multi-styler with smart sensors, promising safer, faster results by 2027.
At CES 2026, L’Oréal unveiled a handful of unconventional beauty gadgets, with a flexible LED face mask stealing the spotlight. It resembles a thin second skin. Unlike competitors’ rigid versions, this mask is made from ultrathin silicone that hugs the face and follows its contours, a choice that hints at a more comfortable fit.
The company says the mask is still a prototype developed with LED specialists iSmart. Inside the transparent base is a skin-safe microchip that precisely controls red light at 630 nm and near‑infrared at 830 nm. Sessions last 10 minutes and start automatically. A commercial launch is planned for 2027, with the product positioned in the premium tier yet priced below the very top of the market.
Alongside the LED masks, L’Oréal also showed a new hair tool, the Light Straight + Multi-styler. It uses infrared light for heating, allowing hair to be straightened at lower temperatures. According to the maker, the device’s glass plates do not exceed 160 degrees Celsius, which reduces the risk of keratin damage and breakage, while styling is faster and yields a smoother finish—an appealing promise for anyone wary of high heat.
L’Oréal adds that infrared radiation penetrates the hair and helps reorganize hydrogen bonds, while built-in sensors and machine-learning algorithms adapt to the user’s movements. The device is also slated no earlier than 2027, with price and full specifications still undisclosed. It sounds like the brand is leaning on smart automation to make results easier to achieve.
The company also emphasizes a broader plan: an ecosystem of devices and cosmetic products designed to work together, including serums intended to enhance light-therapy effects and prevent skin overdrying. The direction suggests the hardware will be paired with tailored formulas from day one.
