LG's CLOid home robot debuted at CES 2026 with two arms, VLM AI and ThinQ integration. See what it did on stage, why the pace raised doubts, and what’s next.

According to the outlet BODA.SU, at CES 2026 LG unveiled its home robot CLOid — a machine meant to shoulder household chores and anchor the company’s Zero Labor Home vision. The idea is that it can handle everyday tasks without constant owner commands, from laundry to cooking.

CLOid comes equipped with cameras and sensors for spatial awareness and, notably, two arms — a feature that sets it apart from many home robots. The system uses a vision-language model to interpret images and video, and it supports a voice interface for control. Management and smart-home integration run through the LG ThinQ ecosystem.

On LG’s stage, the robot did carry out household actions, but at a measured, even cautious pace. It neatly moved clothing and picked up groceries, yet the speed invited skepticism. Against the slick, scripted videos, the live demo felt more tentative — the kind of contrast that quietly lowers expectations.

The real question is the product’s future. LG disclosed neither a launch window nor a price. Experts suggest the robot looks more like a showcase for LG’s AI ecosystem than a device ready for the mass market — and, judging by the demonstration, that reading doesn’t feel far off.
