Discover the vivo Y500i: 7,200 mAh battery with 44W charging, Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, 120Hz LCD, 50MP camera, IP68/IP69 durability, starting at 1,499 yuan in China.

vivo has introduced the Y500i in China, doubling down on battery life and everyday utility. The newcomer joins the Y500 lineup alongside the previously released Y500 and Y500 Pro. The headline feature is a larger battery designed for users who want to go longer between charges.

The Y500i carries a 7,200 mAh battery with 44W fast charging. It runs on a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. The package aims for steady day-to-day performance, media consumption, and long sessions without noticeable slowdowns—stamina takes priority over raw speed.

The phone features a 6.75-inch LCD with a 120 Hz refresh rate and HD+ resolution. The panel reaches up to 1,200 nits and has a tidy cutout for the selfie camera. On the back is a single 50-megapixel main camera with autofocus, while selfies are handled by a 5-megapixel unit. Although the rear looks like a dual-camera setup, the second element functions as an infrared remote—a pragmatic choice that favors utility over camera count.

Durability is a clear focus. The Y500i is rated IP68 and IP69 and carries an SGS Gold Label five-star durability certification. It includes a side fingerprint reader in the power button, an infrared port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and USB-C, adding practical touches for different scenarios.

The Y500i measures 8.49 mm thick and weighs 219 grams. Sales have already started in China in silver, gold, and black. Pricing begins at 1,499 yuan, with higher-memory variants costing more while keeping the spotlight on battery life and reliability.
