With the Galaxy S26 launch around the corner, Samsung is pushing ahead with intensive testing of its new flagships. The Galaxy S26 Ultra powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 has already surfaced in the Geekbench 6 database, and the first scores offer an early look at what to expect before the official announcement set for February 25.

According to a leak from tipster Ice Universe, the tested Galaxy S26 Ultra variant carrying the model number SM-S948U is equipped with 12 GB of RAM. Notably, there are no 16 GB RAM entries in Geekbench at this stage, which could indicate either early testing or a rethink of configurations on Samsung’s side. Given the underclocked setup spotted here, early validation feels like the likelier explanation, though it’s too soon to draw firm conclusions.

The benchmark’s standout detail is the lowered CPU frequencies. Two performance cores of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 ran at 4.20 GHz instead of the standard 4.61 GHz, while six efficiency cores held steady at 3.63 GHz. Even so, the phone posted respectable scores: around 3,466 points in single-core and 11,035 points in multi-core.

These results suggest that, even with capped clocks, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is already a very capable performer. By release, the frequencies are expected to reach their rated values, which should nudge performance further. It’s also worth keeping in mind that Geekbench gauges short bursts and doesn’t represent sustained behavior under prolonged workloads. A clearer picture will come from stress tests and graphics benchmarks, which are likely to appear closer to the official launch.
