Apple's iPhone 17 series sells over 17 million units in China, surpassing local flagships like Xiaomi 17 and Huawei Mate 80. Learn about its success and market impact.

The iPhone 17 series is posting impressive sales figures in the Chinese market, significantly outpacing flagship models from local manufacturers. According to industry insiders, Apple has sold over 17 million units of the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max in China within just a few months of their autumn 2025 launch.

Analysts attribute the lineup's success to meaningful updates across both the base model and higher-end versions. For the first time in years, the standard iPhone received enough enhancements to compete not only with Android flagships but also with its own more expensive siblings. The refreshed design and functionality of the Pro and Pro Max models further fueled consumer interest.

For comparison, the closest competitor—the Xiaomi 17 series—managed sales of around 3 million devices, including the Ultra variant. Other Chinese flagships, like the Huawei Mate 80, vivo X300, and OPPO Find X9, posted even more modest results.

In practice, this means Apple has outsold the combined total of all key Chinese flagships in China alone. Against this backdrop, the company's global performance remains strong, with forecasts suggesting 2025 could be a record year for iPhone sales overall.

The market is now looking ahead to the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S26. However, early information points to a cautious, evolutionary update for that lineup. If these expectations hold, Apple could maintain its dominance at least through the first half of this year.
