Honor unveils the Magic8 RSR Porsche Design, featuring Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, advanced cameras, and sporty styling. Sales start January 23 in China.
Honor has officially unveiled the Magic8 RSR Porsche Design, an ultra-premium flagship smartphone developed in collaboration with Porsche Design. This new model continues the RSR series, blending distinctive sporty styling with top-tier performance and advanced camera capabilities. Sales in China are set to begin on January 23.
The device's design draws inspiration from Porsche sports cars, a theme particularly evident in the camera module's styling. The rear panel is crafted from microcrystalline nanoceramic with a hardness rating of 8.5 on the Mohs scale. This material is stronger than glass and also helps reduce the phone's weight by approximately 10% compared to previous models in the series. The smartphone will be available in Slate Gray and Moonstone color options.
At the heart of the Honor Magic8 RSR Porsche Design is the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The maximum configuration offers up to 24 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1 TB of storage. The chassis is protected to IP68 and IP69K standards, while the display is shielded by the proprietary Giant Rhino glass.
Cameras represent one of the device's key features. The smartphone is equipped with a primary 50 MP sensor in a 1/1.3-inch format with optical image stabilization, a 50 MP ultra-wide camera, and a 200 MP telephoto lens offering 3.7x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom. The Honor AiMAGE system integrates data from multiple sensors to enhance detail and color reproduction, while CIPA 6.5-level stabilization aids handheld shooting in challenging conditions. An optional external teleconverter is also available, extending the focal length to extreme values.
The smartphone features a 7200 mAh battery with support for 120W wired fast charging. Other capabilities include satellite connectivity, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, a facial recognition system, and MagicOS 10 with exclusive Porsche Design theming.
Pricing for the Honor Magic8 RSR Porsche Design starts at 7,999 yuan for the 16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage version. The top-tier configuration with 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage is priced at 8,999 yuan.
