THEQUICKSHOT II is a modern reissue of the classic joystick, featuring micro-switch controls and eight buttons for precise retro gaming. Available now for $42.
Retro Games Ltd. and PLAION REPLAI have officially announced the launch of THEQUICKSHOT II, a modern reissue of one of the most recognizable joysticks from the home computer era. The legendary QuickShot II, which first appeared in the early 1980s, is back on sale, retaining the familiar look and feel that retro gaming fans remember, but now with the reliability of modern components.
THEQUICKSHOT II is designed not as a shelf souvenir but as a fully functional game controller for active use. Inside, it features a micro-switch mechanism that delivers crisp clicks and instant response in every direction and with the fire button press. This provides precise eight-directional control without dead zones, which is especially important for arcade games and dynamic gameplay.
The new version includes eight functional buttons, offering expanded capabilities compared to classic joysticks, along with a signature auto-fire switch that has been adapted to modern standards. Additionally, it comes with suction cups for stability, improved ergonomics in the casing, and a long 1.8-meter cable that suits modern gaming setups.
Developers emphasize that the design has been preserved as accurately as possible: the iconic silhouette and grip remain the same as the original QuickShot II, making the device particularly appealing to fans of classic computers. The joystick fits seamlessly into modern retro systems like THEC64, THEA500, and The Spectrum.
THEQUICKSHOT II is now available for purchase on the PLAION REPLAI website at a recommended price of $42, €35, or £30. For fans of classic games, this is a chance to relive the atmosphere of home retro gaming with the precision and convenience of modern standards.
