Explore Xiaomi HyperOS 3: Hyper AI powered by Gemini, the new Hyperisland, seamless device sharing and wireless displays, plus the rollout starting in November.
As part of its September product launch, Xiaomi unveiled HyperOS 3. The update brings a fresh look and introduces Xiaomi Hyperisland, a counterpart to Dynamic Island: an animated area around the selfie camera that surfaces live notifications and status changes. From there, any related app can expand to full screen — a small touch that makes the interface feel more fluid.
Beyond design, HyperOS 3 strengthens Xiaomi’s device ecosystem. Users can share files by simply tapping one gadget to another. It also supports wireless data exchange between a smartphone and macOS, and lets a phone or tablet act as an additional wireless display. In everyday use, that should trim the friction of moving work between screens.
No launch these days goes by without a spotlight on in-house AI, and Xiaomi is no exception. The new Hyper AI can summarize long texts, remove background noise from recordings and voice calls on the fly, search the phone and the web simultaneously, and process or even bring photos to life. Hyper AI will also be available on Xiaomi 15T smartphones.
The operating system was developed together with Google engineers, which may be why its visuals echo stock Android 16. At its core, Hyper AI relies on Google’s Gemini. The system can also interpret what’s happening on the screen and offer suggestions or take other actions based on that information.
The rollout of HyperOS 3 will begin in November for last year’s flagships, followed by other models from Xiaomi, POCO, and Redmi.
