Apple is preparing three major redesigns: iPhone 17 Air in 2025, a foldable iPhone in 2026, and the iPhone 20 with a curved glass body in 2027, marking 20 years of iPhone.
Apple is preparing three major iPhone redesigns that will reshape the look of its smartphones over the next few years. The news comes from Bloomberg’s well-known insider Mark Gurman, who shared the details in his weekly Power On newsletter.
The first big step will be the iPhone 17 Air, expected to launch in September 2025. This ultra-thin model is set to replace the iPhone 16 Plus, bringing a minimalist design with a single main camera, Apple’s in-house modem, a smaller battery, and the removal of the physical SIM card slot. The standard iPhone 17 will keep the style of the previous generation, while the Pro versions are planned to feature a redesigned camera system.
In 2026, Apple is expected to introduce its long-rumored foldable iPhone, codenamed V68. According to the report, the device will come with four cameras: two main modules, one on the cover display, and another inside. Apple intends to use its own C2 modem alongside a new in-cell panel for the internal screen, designed to make the crease less noticeable and improve touch accuracy.
Finally, in 2027, Apple is preparing a special anniversary redesign for the iPhone 20, celebrating two decades of the product line. Gurman described it as the most radical design shift in iPhone history, with a curved glass body marking the milestone.
