AYN Thor arrives in four versions: Lite, Base, Pro, and Max. Dual-screen design, OLED 120Hz display, Snapdragon chipsets, 6000mAh battery. Prices start at $249.
AYN has unveiled the full specifications of its upcoming Thor handheld console, a device that stands out with its dual-screen design. The console will be available in four versions — Lite, Base, Pro, and Max — offering buyers a broad range of configurations in terms of both price and performance.
The entry-level Lite model runs on the Snapdragon 865 and supports video output via HDMI at up to 1080p/60Hz. The higher-tier models — Base, Pro, and Max — are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, enabling 4K/60Hz output. All versions include an active cooling system, ensuring stable performance during extended gaming sessions.
Each Thor console comes equipped with two displays. The main screen is a 6-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 650 nits. The secondary display measures 3.92 inches, has a resolution of 1080×1240 pixels, a brightness of 550 nits, and runs at 60Hz. This auxiliary screen is designed for quick-access functions such as adjusting brightness and performance, monitoring temperature and frame rates, launching video guides, or using split-screen mode.
The device is powered by a 6,000 mAh battery and features a fully functional USB-C port. Its design draws inspiration from Nintendo handhelds, complete with reinforced hinges and even a strap attachment for added portability. On the software side, the Thor runs Android 13 with AYN’s own customization layer for performance tuning.
Sales are scheduled to begin at the end of October. Pricing starts at $249 for the Lite model (8GB RAM + 128GB storage), $299 for the Base (8GB + 128GB), $329 for the Pro (12GB + 256GB), and $429 for the top-tier Max (16GB + 1TB).
