A survey reveals 86% of Americans know about AI in products, but 35% don't need AI features due to complexity and privacy concerns. Learn about adoption trends.

While tech companies are actively integrating artificial intelligence into gadgets, U.S. consumers remain more cautious. According to a survey by Circana, 86% of Americans are aware of AI in products, but 35% say they simply don't need AI features. The main reasons are a feeling of unnecessary complexity and concerns about personal data, which worry 59% of AI skeptics. Cost also plays a role: 43% of respondents are unwilling to pay more for AI-equipped devices. Meanwhile, only 15% consider the complexity of AI functions to be a problem.

Nevertheless, most Americans don't reject AI entirely. About 65% of those surveyed want to use AI on at least one device, and among young adults aged 18–24, this figure reaches 82%. Voice functions have gained the most traction, used by 75% of smartphone users, as well as owners of smart speakers, displays, and glasses. Even smart refrigerators are gradually adopting voice control.

Experts note that the results show positive potential for the AI market, but also emphasize the need to prove the practical value of these technologies. Companies must address privacy, cost, utility, and ethical considerations to expand AI's popularity among a broader user base.
