Leaks about the Huawei Pura X2 suggest major upgrades, including larger screens, Kirin 9030 chip, and 200 MP camera. Expected release in April 2025.
Leaks about the Huawei Pura X2 continue to reveal more details, suggesting a significant upgrade over the first-generation foldable smartphone. According to fresh information from Chinese insiders, the new model will feature substantially larger screens and more advanced internals. Its announcement is now most likely expected in April, rather than March as previously anticipated.
The internal flexible display of the Huawei Pura X2 is reported to grow to 7.69 inches with WQHD+ resolution, while the external screen will increase to 5.5 inches. By comparison, the original Pura X had noticeably more modest diagonals, which limited its usability when folded. A more tablet-like aspect ratio for the main screen is also mentioned, which could make the device more convenient for content consumption.
Performance is rumored to be handled by the new proprietary Kirin 9030 processor. Additionally, Huawei is said to be adding a telephoto camera to the Pura X2, expanding zoom capabilities. The total number of cameras may reach four, including a primary sensor at 200 MP. Top memory configurations are expected, up to 20 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, along with operation under HarmonyOS 6.1.
Insiders also claim the smartphone will launch in several vibrant color options, including blue, green, orange, purple, black, and white. It remains possible that before the Pura X2's release, the company will first unveil the flagship Pura 90 series, with the foldable smartphone becoming Huawei's next major release in the second quarter.
