iPhone 17e leak shows 10GB RAM but experts question reliability

A new leak has surfaced online regarding the iPhone 17e, Apple's upcoming budget model for the next generation. The smartphone reportedly appeared in the Geekbench 6 database under the identifier iPhone99,11, showcasing unusual specifications like 10GB of RAM. However, the reliability of this data is highly questionable.

According to the published results, the device scored 2,560 points in the single-core test and 8,553 points in the multi-core test. The listing also states that the phone runs iOS 26.1 and is equipped with 10GB of RAM—2GB more than the iPhone 16e. Earlier rumors suggested the iPhone 17e would feature a "cut-down" version of the A19 chip, and the performance in the test theoretically aligns with that expectation.

Experts, however, point out several red flags. The listed base processor frequency of 3.76 GHz is lower than expected for Apple's next-generation chips. Additionally, the model identifier doesn't match the company's typical naming system. More questions arise from the motherboard name, which doesn't correspond to any known internal Apple codes.

All of this could indicate fabricated results or the testing of an entirely different prototype. Until Apple officially unveils the iPhone 17e, such leaks should be approached with caution.
