Activision has officially confirmed that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile servers will be shut down on April 17, 2026. The announcement, made in the publisher's blog, effectively marks the end of the mobile version of Warzone. The game was removed from app stores back in May 2025, but players who had already installed it could continue playing until the servers are fully closed.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile launched on March 21, 2024, envisioned as a full-fledged battle royale experience for smartphones, aiming to deliver an authentic feel close to the PC and console versions. This project became the first Call of Duty platform to bring back the iconic Verdansk and Rebirth Island maps after they were removed from the original Warzone. Developers also implemented cross-progression and synchronization with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, allowing players to progress a single account across different devices.

To create Warzone Mobile, Activision brought together several studios, including Activision Shanghai Studio, Beenox, Digital Legends, and Solid State Studios. Despite the extensive development and high expectations, the mobile version failed to attract and retain a broad audience. According to the company, the project did not generate the same level of interest among mobile players as the PC and console versions of Call of Duty, which became the primary reason for the decision to shut it down.

Players who used a single Activision account will retain access to it in other games in the series, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Call of Duty: Mobile. However, COD Points purchased specifically in Warzone Mobile will not be transferred to other platforms. Activision has recommended spending any remaining in-game currency on content before the servers go offline.

The closure of Warzone Mobile does not signal Call of Duty's exit from the mobile market. Call of Duty: Mobile will continue to receive updates and new content, remaining the series' primary free-to-play game for smartphones, featuring Battle Royale, Multiplayer, Zombies, and DMZ: Recon modes.
