Learn when Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices will stop receiving HyperOS updates and security patches. Check support timelines for your model to plan upgrades.

Xiaomi continues to strengthen its reputation as one of the leaders in software support timelines among Android device manufacturers. However, even the most generous update policy has its limits. For millions of users worldwide, the question of when exactly their smartphone or tablet will stop receiving HyperOS and security patches is becoming increasingly relevant.

The company officially publishes end-of-support dates, after which a device no longer receives major HyperOS updates or regular security fixes. For owners of flagship models, the situation looks quite optimistic. The Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15T series will be supported until 2031, while the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 13 lineups will retain updates until 2028–2029, depending on the model. Earlier generations, such as the Xiaomi 12 series, will end their life cycle in 2026. The Pad 7 tablets will receive support until 2028, whereas the Pad 6 will approach its end in 2026. The foldable MIX Flip deserves special mention, as it will remain current until 2029.

In the Redmi segment, timelines vary even more. The new Redmi Note 15 generation and its Pro versions have received one of the longest support cycles—until 2032. The Redmi Note 14 series will be updated until around 2029–2031, depending on the version, while the Redmi Note 13 lineup will end support in 2028. Older devices in the Redmi Note 12 series will gradually exit the update cycle in 2026–2027. The budget Redmi 15 and Redmi 14 series will remain relevant until the end of the decade, whereas some models of the Redmi 12 and Redmi 13 will end support within the next two years. The Redmi Pad 2 tablets have received support until 2032, which looks quite generous for this segment.

For POCO, the picture is similar: the flagship POCO F8 and POCO F7 series will receive updates until 2031, while the F6 generation models will be supported until 2028. The POCO X7 lineup will remain in the cycle until 2029, whereas the POCO X6 will be supported until 2028. Older devices in the X5 series will end support in 2026–2027. The budget POCO M8 and POCO C85 series have received long-term support up to 2031–2032, though some models from past generations, including the POCO C65, are already approaching the end of updates in 2026. The POCO Pad M1 tablet will remain current until 2029.

End of support does not mean a device will stop working, but it will no longer receive critically important security fixes. This detail matters because it highlights the growing number of cyber threats and the active introduction of new features in HyperOS. Users should check their model's end-of-support date in advance and consider it when planning an upgrade, to avoid being left without protection and modern system capabilities.

Xiaomi is gradually extending support timelines for new device generations, especially in the mid-range and budget segments. This move suggests the company aims to boost user trust and extend the lifespan of its hardware. However, the gap between old and new series remains noticeable—and for many, 2026 could be the turning point after which it's time to consider switching smartphones.
