Samsung partners with Perplexity for Galaxy AI update, enhancing S26 flagships with natural device interaction, unified task management, and improved web search. Launching February 25, 2026.
Samsung is preparing a major update for its Galaxy AI features. Ahead of Galaxy Unpacked 2026, the company announced a partnership with Perplexity. This will allow the new Galaxy S26 flagships to provide users with a more natural and intuitive device experience. The integration aims to expand AI agent capabilities and create a unified task management system.
Research from Samsung shows that modern users are increasingly turning to AI assistants for everyday tasks. About 80% of respondents use more than two AI agents simultaneously. This signaled to the company the need for deeper integration of such tools into Galaxy AI.
Perplexity will become part of the new Galaxy AI ecosystem, integrating with Bixby and a range of native apps, including Notes, Gallery, Calendar, and Reminders. Perplexity's algorithms will enhance web search functions and offer users new ways to interact with content directly through their smartphones.
Furthermore, Samsung promises to extend third-party app capabilities, allowing AI agents to be launched via the voice command "Hey Plex" or the device's side button. The Galaxy AI platform will operate at the system level, merging multiple AI systems into a single stream. This should make working with apps smoother and more convenient.
The official launch of the Galaxy S26 is set for February 25, 2026. After that, owners of the new devices will be able to evaluate the practical effectiveness of the Samsung and Perplexity collaboration, as well as the improved AI interaction experience in daily work.
