Sony updates WH-1000XM6 and WF-1000XM5 with Gemini Live AI, Fast Pair and Audio Share, plus Auracast and Bluetooth 5.3, enhancing Android 16 listening.
Sony’s flagship headphones — WH-1000XM6 and WF-1000XM5 — have received a substantial update. The models now support the Gemini Live feature for interacting with an AI assistant, along with audio sharing via Fast Pair, making it easy to pass a soundtrack or a movie to other devices. It looks like a small tweak on paper, but it should make day-to-day listening smoother.
Fast Pair automatically discovers compatible devices nearby and connects without extra setup, while Audio Share lets you stream audio to several devices at once. Previously, these options were limited to Pixel owners on Android 16; now Sony users can take advantage of them as well — a tidy fix for anyone juggling different gadgets.
The update also extends compatibility with new Android 16 features, including support for Auracast and Bluetooth 5.3, which makes shared listening even more convenient. Taken together, the additions tighten up the multi-device experience without adding complexity.
