Samsung is expanding One UI 8.5 beta testing to devices like Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, S24, and Tab S11. Features include redesigned quick settings and lock screen.

Samsung continues to expand its One UI 8.5 testing and is preparing to open the beta program to even more Galaxy devices. Initially, access to the update was limited to the Galaxy S25 series, but the list grew significantly in March. Foldable smartphones like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 joined the testing, followed by previous-generation models including the Galaxy S24 lineup and Galaxy Tab S11 tablets.

According to the latest information, new One UI 8.5 builds have already appeared on the company's servers, indicating that beta testing for additional devices will open soon. This will allow more users to try out fresh features early, though it might slightly delay the release timeline for the stable version of the system.

The update is based on Android 16 but uses the newer QPR2 build, which brings additional improvements from Google. Key new features include a redesigned quick settings panel with full customization options, updated icons with a subtle 3D effect, and an improved lock screen that now adapts clock display and shows weather effects.

One UI 8.5 also features a new interface with a floating tab panel, the "Now Nudge" function for contextual hints, and several useful tools including partial screen recording, audio streaming, and enhanced device protection mechanisms. Overall, this makes the update one of Samsung's most significant steps in developing its interface in recent times.
