Discover what's coming to the iPhone 17e: OLED display, Dynamic Island, A19 chip, and a $599 price. Launch in H1 2026 as Apple grows its budget lineup.

Apple will continue to expand its lineup of lower-priced iPhones, with the next step set to be the iPhone 17e. According to the latest information, the device is slated for the first half of 2026 and will succeed the budget-friendly iPhone 16e.

The iPhone 17e is expected to use an OLED panel similar to the one in the 16e. Insiders say Apple may also bring Dynamic Island and a refreshed body design inspired by the iPhone 15. If that proves true, the 17e would be the most up-to-date “budget” iPhone to date.

The smartphone is said to run on the A19 chip—the same silicon used in the iPhone 17 lineup. That points to a clear jump in performance, smoother on-device AI tasks, and more efficient power use.

Apple is likely to keep the price around $599, matching the 16e, to maintain an accessible gateway into the iPhone ecosystem. Analysts predict the company will roll out affordable versions annually, with an iPhone 18e expected in 2027 alongside the base iPhone 18. Taken together, the roadmap hints at a steadier cadence for the “e” series rather than a one-off experiment.

All told, the iPhone 17e could shape up to be the most compelling budget iPhone in years, marrying a current design, a capable processor, and a price that stays within reach. On paper, it looks like the sweet spot many buyers have been waiting for.
