Google launches AI Edge Eloquent, an offline dictation app that converts speech to polished text, removes filler words, and works without internet. Available on iOS.

Google has launched a new dictation app called Google AI Edge Eloquent, which uses artificial intelligence to convert speech into polished text. The key feature is its ability to work directly on the device without requiring an internet connection. Unlike standard services, this app doesn't just record words—it immediately cleans up speech. It automatically removes filler words, corrects slips of the tongue, and produces structured text that closely resembles a finished document. All of this happens in real time.

The technology is built on local AI models that are downloaded directly to the smartphone. If needed, users can enable cloud processing with Gemini for even more precise text refinement. Different output formats are available, ranging from brief notes to detailed, formal texts.

The app also supports personalization: users can create a custom dictionary, import terms from Gmail, and train the system to adapt to their speech style. Over time, it improves at recognizing names, professional terminology, and frequently used phrases. Speech statistics features and search functionality for recordings are included as well.

For now, the app is only available on iOS, though an Android version has been mentioned previously. Against the backdrop of growing interest in offline AI solutions, Google is stepping into competition with tools like Wispr Flow and SuperWhisper, offering a more intelligent approach to voice input.
