The upcoming flagship chip, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, is rumored to feature a dedicated Low Power Efficiency (LPE) core. According to insider Fixed Focus Digital, this core would handle lightweight background tasks like sensor monitoring, notification management, and always-on functions, freeing up the main processor. By offloading these processes, the primary cores can spend more time in sleep mode, boosting overall energy savings.
Speculation suggests the next Snapdragon chips will adopt a 2+3+3 CPU configuration, pairing two high-performance cores with six efficient ones grouped into two clusters.
