A new leak reveals the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 base chip features Oryon cores and an updated Adreno GPU, offering flagship performance in standard smartphones.

A new leak has revealed unexpected details about the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, and it appears the base version of the chip will be significantly more powerful than previously thought. According to insider information, the standard model will feature next-generation Oryon cores—the same foundation as the Pro version, albeit with slightly less cache.

The difference between the two variants may not be as critical as one might expect. The standard chip is expected to have about 6 MB of system cache, while the Pro version will offer higher figures. In practice, however, this distinction may not always be noticeable during real-world use.

The graphics component deserves special attention. The leak points to an updated Adreno GPU with a segmented architecture that includes six independent blocks. This approach allows for more flexible load distribution and boosts overall performance in gaming and graphics tasks. Combined with dedicated graphics memory, it could elevate the standard Gen 6 to a level close to top-tier solutions.

It was previously reported that the chip is being manufactured using TSMC's advanced process, which should ensure high energy efficiency and stable operation even under load. Meanwhile, the Pro version is likely to gain additional advantages, such as expanded memory support and advanced AI capabilities.

Nevertheless, it's already becoming clear: the base Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 could become a full-fledged flagship solution without the need to pay extra for the Pro. If the information is confirmed, users will get powerful smartphones with top-tier performance even in the standard configuration.
