Discover the GoPro Mission 1 series with 50MP sensor, 8K video, and advanced features for professional shooting. Pre-orders start May 21.
GoPro has officially expanded its camera lineup with the new Mission 1 series, which includes the Mission 1, Mission 1 Pro, and Mission 1 Pro ILS models. These new releases feature several key upgrades aimed at professional shooting and enhanced flexibility.
The main update is a new 50-megapixel 1-inch sensor that, according to the company, captures significantly more light compared to previous generations. At the heart of the cameras is the new 5nm GP3 processor, which supports advanced recording modes including 8K at 60 and 30 fps, 4K up to 240 fps, and super slow-motion in 1080p up to 960 fps.
Special emphasis has been placed on the Open Gate mode in 4K and expanded image processing capabilities. A built-in neural processor handles improved quality in challenging lighting conditions and more advanced color and detail work. Battery life has also seen a notable increase: the Enduro 2 battery provides up to 5 hours of recording in Full HD and over 3 hours in 4K. The camera bodies are now more durable and can withstand immersion up to 20 meters without an additional housing.
The series features updated ergonomics: a larger OLED display, redesigned control buttons, and wide-angle optics with a 159-degree field of view. The audio system uses four microphones with support for 32-bit floating-point recording.
The advanced Mission 1 Pro and Pro ILS models offer extended capabilities. In particular, the Pro ILS version supports interchangeable lenses and compatibility with the Micro Four Thirds (MFT) system, bringing the camera closer to professional-level hybrid solutions.
In addition to the cameras, the company also showcased new accessories and a wireless microphone system that is compatible not only with action cameras but also with smartphones and other devices. Pre-orders are scheduled to start on May 21, with the first shipments beginning at the end of the month.
