Honor tests 11,000 mAh battery for next super-autonomous smartphones

Honor continues to expand its line of super-autonomous smartphones, and recent leaks suggest the company is preparing to set a new record. According to insider Digital Chat Station, Honor is already testing a battery with a nominal capacity of 10,690 mAh and a typical value around 11,000 mAh.

While it's not yet clear which specific device will feature this battery, it's likely intended for the next generation of smartphones focused on extended battery life. If these reports are accurate, the new model would surpass the current brand leader, the Honor Power 2, which comes with a 10,080 mAh battery.

Interestingly, Honor's battery capacity growth has been remarkably rapid. The first Power series model offered 8,000 mAh, and the next generation already saw a significant increase without noticeable compromises. These devices maintain support for fast charging—up to 80W wired—and reverse charging for other gadgets.

The Honor Power 2 demonstrates that even with a massive battery, manufacturers can maintain a slim profile and respectable specifications. The smartphone features an OLED display with high resolution, the modern MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Elite chip, and fast memory standards.

If Honor manages to implement an 11,000 mAh battery without significantly increasing thickness or weight, it could fundamentally change expectations for smartphone battery life.
