Insider reports suggest NVIDIA may reintroduce the GeForce RTX 3060 with 12 GB memory in June 2026 due to delays in the RTX 5050 launch, offering a competitive budget GPU solution.

According to insider reports, NVIDIA may bring back the GeForce RTX 3060 with 12 GB of memory to the market. This move is attributed to a potential delay in the launch of the new budget model, the RTX 5050, which was expected to fill the affordable solution niche.

The leak suggests that the release of the GeForce RTX 5050 with 9 GB of memory is in doubt, and the company is considering the RTX 3060 as a temporary replacement. Updated batches of this graphics card are anticipated to go on sale in June 2026, addressing the gap in the product lineup.

Interestingly, the RTX 3060 remains competitive in several aspects despite its age. For instance, it offers 12 GB of video memory, which is more than the projected RTX 5050. Additionally, using GDDR6 memory could prove more advantageous in terms of component availability compared to the newer GDDR7.

The model's return is also linked to the resumption of production at Samsung facilities using the 8-nm process. This allows NVIDIA to quickly ramp up output of a proven solution without waiting for new products to be ready. However, NVIDIA has not officially commented on rumors about the RTX 3060's comeback. Nonetheless, market conditions and possible delays with new graphics cards make such a step quite logical, especially in the affordable GPU segment.
