Huawei unveils the Watch Ultimate Design Diamond Edition, a premium smartwatch with diamonds on dial, case, and strap. Features include eSIM, health monitoring, and diving support.
Huawei is set to unveil a new premium smartwatch model, the Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Diamond Edition. The official announcement will take place on April 20 in China, where other devices like the Huawei Watch Buds 2 are also expected to be shown.
This new release continues the Ultimate Design line, building on ideas introduced in the Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Royal Edition. Early teasers suggest the focus is squarely on aesthetics: the watch is adorned with diamonds placed on the dial, case, and strap. The gems are positioned at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock markers, while the case features a faceted design that gives the device a more jewelry-like character.
The controls have also been updated. Instead of the two round buttons found on the previous model, this version uses a digital crown paired with an elongated button. The overall design has become more decorative and tailored to the premium segment. Although exact specifications haven't been revealed yet, the model is expected to inherit key capabilities from its predecessor. These include a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display, eSIM support for standalone calls, and AI-based noise cancellation features.
The watch will also offer gesture control, allowing users to interact with apps and calls without touch. For health monitoring, it includes a Health Glance function that quickly displays key metrics like heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and stress levels.
This device is designed for active use: it supports GPS, music storage, and tracking for various sports including running, cycling, and golf. Additionally, it's suitable for diving, with claimed operation down to 150 meters and a function for diver-to-diver communication using sonar.
The official price hasn't been announced yet, but the previous model provides a reference point: the Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Royal Edition cost about 24,999 yuan in China and over 3,000 euros in Europe. All details will be revealed at the presentation.
