Huawei launches the Pura X Max foldable smartphone, featuring a 7.7-inch display, Kirin 9030 Pro chip, and triple camera. Learn about specs and pricing.

Huawei has unveiled the new Huawei Pura X Max foldable smartphone, becoming the first major manufacturer to introduce the Wide Fold format to the market. This move once again leaves Apple and Samsung trailing in the foldable device race.

The new model builds on last year's Huawei Pura X, adopting a more conventional book-style form factor with a wide inner display. It features a 5.4-inch external screen and a 7.7-inch foldable panel with high brightness and LTPO technology. Powering the smartphone is the Kirin 9030 Pro chip. According to the company, it shows a significant performance boost over the previous generation, with improvements to the CPU, GPU, and neural processing unit.

The device's camera system includes a triple module: a main 50MP sensor with variable aperture, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a telephoto lens with 3.5x zoom. It also uses a proprietary color sensor for more accurate image reproduction. The smartphone runs on HarmonyOS 6.1, supports a stylus, and integrates with an ecosystem of devices, including action cameras. Its 5,300 mAh battery supports fast wired and wireless charging.

The price ranges from approximately $1,600 to $2,000 depending on the configuration. However, experts note that the final price outside China could be even higher.
