WhatsApp Liquid Glass Redesign: What's Changing

WhatsApp's Liquid Glass redesign with floating message bar and semi-transparent nav bar is almost here. The rollout will be gradual, bringing a lighter feel.

WhatsApp is on the verge of introducing a refreshed interface that adopts the Liquid Glass aesthetic. Hints of the redesign first surfaced in the beta version in late 2025, when users spotted changes to individual interface elements and the main chat screen. The new look draws on the visual language Apple has embraced in recent iOS versions.

According to WABetaInfo, the development team is almost ready to release the new interface. While most beta testers still don’t have access, some specialists have managed to enable it manually. The updated version introduces a floating message input bar and a semi-transparent navigation bar.

These elements give WhatsApp a lighter, more contemporary feel. Instead of the usual flat blocks, the interface now appears more airy, with transparency effects that separate elements from the background. The difference is especially striking in the lower part of the chat, where the new floating panel looks less bulky and blends better with iOS design.

A wide release isn’t expected immediately, though. The team seems to be rolling out the new design very cautiously and in stages. Many users still haven’t received even the early interface tweaks, so a complete switch to Liquid Glass could take a while.

In all likelihood, WhatsApp will only push the redesign to the general user base once the overhaul is completely finished. For now, the new version remains hidden, still being tested within the app. But what’s already clear is that one of the world’s most popular messaging apps is gearing up for a significant visual refresh.
