Xiaomi rolls out surprise HyperOS update for EOL phones: Xiaomi 11, Redmi Note 11 Pro+, POCO F4. Fixes critical bugs, boosts stability. Check and install now.
Xiaomi has dropped a surprise HyperOS update for several smartphones that had already reached end-of-life (EOL). These updates are unusual, so the rollout for older devices caught users off guard. While they don't introduce major new features, they fix critical bugs and improve overall system stability.
An EOL status normally means a device stops receiving software updates, including new OS versions and regular security patches. But Xiaomi makes occasional exceptions when serious issues are found. This time, the update covers multiple models from Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO: Xiaomi 11, Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, Redmi K60e, Redmi Note 11 Pro+, POCO F4, and POCO F4 GT.
Owners of these devices should check for the update in settings and install it as soon as possible, since it may contain important fixes for critical issues.
However, these updates don't mean full support is back. The devices still won't receive regular security patches or new HyperOS features. For the long term, Xiaomi recommends switching to newer models with active support.
