Discover Google Pixel 11 expected features: brighter OLED display, Tensor G6 chip, Pixel Glow notifications, upgraded cameras. Launch in August.
The Google Pixel 11 is expected to launch in August, but initial details about the new lineup could surface as early as the upcoming Google I/O conference. According to leaks, the phones will keep the familiar design with a horizontal camera bar, though under the hood and in software they will feature several notable upgrades that could help the series stand out against the iPhone 17 and Galaxy S26.
One of the Pixel 11's key selling points is said to be a new OLED display built with Samsung M16 material. That panel is expected to be brighter and more power-efficient than previous solutions, while also delivering more accurate colors. If the rumors hold true, the Pixel 11's screen could look more modern than the M14 panels found in competing devices like the Galaxy S26 and iPhone 17.
Performance will likely be handled by a new Tensor G6 chip built on a 2nm process. The processor is expected to handle AI tasks better, offering improved speed and efficiency over earlier Tensor generations. Google might also include a separate Titan M3 security module and switch to a MediaTek M90 modem instead of previous Exynos solutions, which should improve connectivity stability.
Another interesting feature could be Pixel Glow—a light notification system on the phone's back. According to rumors, it can change color depending on the notification type and support up to eight shades. Potentially, users could customize colors for different apps or events, and integration with Gemini would make this feature smarter and more context-aware.
The cameras are also expected to receive hardware upgrades. The base Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro Fold, per insider information, may get a new 50-megapixel sensor codenamed chemosh. For the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL, two new sensors are anticipated: a main and a telephoto lens. Earlier leaks mentioned a 64-megapixel telephoto for the Pixel 11 Pro XL, which could improve zoom photo quality.
The software foundation of the lineup will be Android 17. The system will bring Gemini Intelligence—an AI agent for performing complex multi-step actions—as well as the ability to create personal widgets from text descriptions. Combined with App Bubbles, Pause Point, slimmer bezels, and a possible redesign of the camera block, the Pixel 11 could become one of the year's most notable Android flagships.
