HyperOS 3.1 Update: Which Xiaomi Devices Are Still Waiting?

Danny Weber

Xiaomi has rolled out HyperOS 3.1 to 85% of eligible devices. However, budget Redmi and POCO models like Redmi Note 15 Pro 4G and POCO M6 still await the update. Learn about the delay reasons and what's new.

Xiaomi has already launched the Android 17 Developer Preview for several models, but the HyperOS 3.1 update hasn't reached all devices yet. According to XimiTime, the delay mainly affects budget and some mid-range Redmi and POCO smartphones and tablets, while most compatible flagships have already received the new system.

Models still waiting for HyperOS 3.1 include the Redmi Note 15 Pro 4G, Redmi Note 14 4G, Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G, Redmi 14C, Redmi 13, Redmi 13X, Redmi A4, Redmi A3 Pro, Redmi Pad 2, Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G, Redmi Pad SE 4G, POCO M7 4G, POCO M6, POCO C85 4G, POCO C75, POCO C75 5G, and POCO Pad M1. Possible reasons for the delay include bugs in internal testing, the need for additional optimization for specific hardware, regional firmware certifications, or chipset limitations.

The rollout of HyperOS 3.1 is actually quite swift—the update began only in April, and Xiaomi has already updated about 85% of eligible devices, according to the source. This update is more substantial than a typical intermediate release. It brings visual changes, improved compatibility with Apple devices, a more flexible lock screen, Super OTA for fast updates, and the expansion of Hyper Island to Xiaomi tablets.

The next major step will be HyperOS 4 based on Android 17. The Android 17 beta is already available for the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and Xiaomi 15T Pro, with more models expected to join testing later. HyperOS 4 is anticipated to bring even more features, interface improvements, and AI capabilities. However, owners of some budget devices still need to wait for at least HyperOS 3.1.
