Trump Mobile finally ships the T1 smartphone after year-long delays. Discover its specs, price range of $500-$1,000, and controversial pre-order history.
Trump Mobile has announced that initial shipments of the T1 smartphone could start as early as this week. The gold-colored device was unveiled nearly a year ago, but its release faced multiple delays—first pushed to August, then to October. During that time, customer complaints mounted, especially after the company changed pre-order terms and removed guarantees that the phone would actually be produced.
Around 600,000 people placed a $100 deposit on the phone, bringing total deposits to roughly $60 million. A Trump Mobile representative declined to explain the lengthy hold-up but said the delays were justified because the company is delivering an outstanding product.
The T1 is an Android smartphone with mid-range specs. It packs a Snapdragon processor, a 50-megapixel main camera, and a 5,000 mAh battery. Pricing reportedly ranges from $500 to $1,000.
Trump Mobile originally claimed the phone would be manufactured in the U.S., but later softened that statement. Now the company says the device was designed with American values in mind. No unique features have been disclosed so far.
Beyond selling phones, Trump Mobile offers its own 5G plans. The subscription costs $47.45 per month—a nod to Donald Trump's two presidential terms. The company also sells refurbished Samsung and Apple smartphones at a steep markup. For instance, a refurbished iPhone 15 with 128 GB of storage goes for about $630, while other retailers sell similar models for around $300 to $350.
Trump Mobile added that all pre-ordered T1 units would be delivered within the next few weeks. Earlier, Eric Trump claimed that Trump Mobile would change the game and that the phone would deliver the highest level of quality.
